The best way to clean and maintain cement tiles

Maintaining cement tiles is straightforward, but they require some basic care. First, we recommend mopping your cement tiles regularly with clean water and a neutral cleaner such as Fila cleaner pro, especially if your tiles have been sealed with Fila MP90 eco xtreme. Our cement tile pigments are crafted from a blend of cement powders and natural marble powders, giving the tiles their unique finish. However, this material is porous and needs to be sealed. Once properly sealed, your tiles will have a long lifespan, particularly when maintained with appropriate cement tile cleaning products.

To keep your cement tiles looking their best, promptly clean up any spills, ensuring you thoroughly dry any liquid on the tile surface with a clean cloth to prevent staining or permanent damage. This is especially crucial for acid-based substances like red wine or lemon juice, which can degrade the sealant and potentially stain the tile if left unattended. An effective way to maintain cement tiles is by placing mats at all entrances and exits to reduce wear from foot traffic coming in from outside.

If you plan to use cement tiles in high-traffic areas or outdoors (please refer to our recommendations regarding outdoor use), we advise re-sealing your tiles more frequently to keep them in optimal condition. For kitchens and hallways, applying an additional top-coat sealant, such as Fila MATT natural-effect protective wax, will impart a slight sheen to the tiles and significantly aid in maintenance and cleanliness. Once a month, we suggest adding some Fila cleaner pro to your mop water; this will help eliminate any additional dirt buildup that regular cleaning might miss.
